If you have already been involved or network marketing before you will know the drill.
They show you the product line they tall you how revolutionary they are “life changing” and that everyone will be busting down doors to get them.
You are told no experience is necessary and that anyone can build a residual income by sharing these products with friends and family and anyone else that they can flog them off to.
The main reason MLM is attractive has to do with:
- The promise of making money from home
- Sacking your boss
- Choosing when and where you work
- No more commuting
- More time with the family
- More time doing what you love
- Financial security.
These are all very valid reasons. Unfortunately the marketing tends to focus on income claims of the top earners, 1% of the total number of active consultants.
So now you think the business is easy, you need no prior experience and you can make a 6-figure income by just picking up the phone.
Unfortunately this attacks only one type of person that is the get rich quick type.
If you think any type of legitimate business can be built this way you need to take a stop backwards and take another good hard look.
The simple truth is in many ways this business is even harder than a bricks and motor business. At least you get people passing your store.
At home it’s just you, the phone and a cupboard full of those life-changing products you are going to sell.
It takes a lot of discipline and drive to build a business out of these circumstances. People with Prior experience in business in either bricks and motor or MLM have a far greater understanding of the consistent focussed effort needed.
So if you are looking at a business opportunity that sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
