Everybody knows the world economy has taken a big dip. People are being laid off and institutions that were once thought to be untouchable are falling like flies. What most people do not understand is that the internet is still growing. There are, in fact, over 1.4 billion people who are currently on the net. Traffic to websites grew by 50%-100% in 2008. This happened during the worst economic year that anyone can remember.
Statistics show that over $200 billion was spent online in the U.S. last year.
So what does that mean to you? Simple. You need to learn internet marketing.
Think about it from this perspective: If you want to be wealthy (or even just secure) you have to be self-employed.
Now your choices are
- Start a brick and mortar business.
- Start an internet business.
Have a look at any street USA. Seriously, go count how many people are walking around spending money. The streets are near dead. Now imagine opening a store that sells TVs or groceries or art supplies. Where are the customers? Now compare that to something like Google where you can access 1000 people per day in your niche almost overnight. It doesn’t even really seem fair. I personally only have one brick and mortar business and it is because 2000 people per day are brought straight there from a cruise ship. All my other businesses are online because, frankly, that is where the money is.
So the question then becomes where do you start?
